Spyderco Tenacious, serrated version. I 'sadly' own the plain blade, well I am very happy about this knife ... Like most Spyderco's it is a reliable, strong and razor sharp knife.

Travelling abroad and knives:
Europe:
Latest news:
Holland (Netherlands) has a new law on the possession of knives , it is
a rather dubious law comparable with the law in Belgium, you can own a knife
but carrying it can be a problem, there are fines of 350 euros in Holland
for carrying a knife, but you can claim the knife back. In Belgium the fine
is around 150 euros. In Belgium you can evade a fine if you put the knife
somewhere in your trunk or in a case. Knives are allowed, but you have to
got a "legal"reason for carrying the knife and that reason depends on
the mood the police officer is in. Self-defense is not a legal reason in both
countries, so be prepared to lie, say that it is a necessary working tool or that
you are there to hunt or fish. Or better avoid both countries ...

The right to fight back
The Telegraph has been inundated by "Right To Fight Back"
coupons from readers who support our campaign to strengthen the rights
of householders to defend themselves and their property.
The coupon, which calls on the Prime Minister to enact
legislation giving householders the unqualified right to use force
against intruders, was published in last Sunday's newspaper.
By yesterday, almost 4,000 readers had returned their
coupons, and many included strongly worded letters of support. Some
readers also photocopied the coupon and distributed it to friends and
work colleagues. To all, we extend our thanks.
Tony Blair, Michael Howard, the Metropolitan Police
Commissioner and the Director of Public Prosecutions have all indicated
during the past week that they support the rights of householders to
protect their homes from burglars.
Our campaign continues, however, and at this time, your support is more valuable than ever.

The NRA and the right to fight back :
The National Rifle Association always has and always will advocate the passage and preservation of self-defense laws.
The alternative leaves the innocent in danger.
The vast majority of states do not impose a “duty to retreat”
and most Americans support laws that clarify that Common Law,
common-sense right. It empowers lawful people to defend themselves, and
deters would-be murderers, rapists and robbers.
It’s a natural right. No law “gives”
it or can take it away. It’s yours. It works. And its only alternative –
the idea that distant, disinterested third parties can dictate after
the fact that “you must retreat” – will never be accepted by the American people.
For
these reasons, the National Rifle Association will work to protect
self-defense laws on the books and advocate for their passage in those
states that do not fully respect this fundamental right.
About:
Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association
is America’s oldest civil rights and sportsmen’s group. Four million
members strong, NRA continues its mission to uphold Second Amendment
rights and to advocate enforcement of existing laws against violent
offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation’s leader
in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law
enforcement and the military. Visit: www.nra.org
